Since 2018 we act in concert: Format Werk in Austria and Staufen GmbH in Germany have merged to create new synergies and opportunities for the entire European market across all trade levels. This means more security, new innovations and even more production capacity for our customers.

Energy

Energy plays a central role in our lives – including us as an industrial company, of course. Without energy, all our machines would grind to a halt. Where this energy comes from is very important to us:
On the one hand we obtain energy directly from our photovoltaic system, on the other hand we also rely on electricity from hydropower – this choice represents a further step towards a more sustainable future and emphasises the need to make conscious decisions about our energy sources.

Klimaneutralität

We endeavour to keep our carbon dioxide footprint as small as possible: In recent years, we have laid the foundations for a company that is as climate-friendly as possible with a comprehensive energy efficiency project. The conscious choice of our energy sources is essential here. We offset the unavoidable amount of CO2 emissions released into the atmosphere by supporting global climate protection projects.

The certification by Climate Partner confirms that these efforts are bearing fruit: it shows that the Format Werk & Staufen Group not only reduces its own emissions, but also fulfils all the requirements of a modern, climate-friendly company in terms of offsetting.

photovoltaics

The power of the sun as a clean, inexhaustible source of energy has been of interest to us for several years. Thanks to continuous investment in the expansion of the photovoltaic system on our company building, we are now able to generate over half of our electricity requirements from our own power.
This not only enables us to reduce our operating costs, but also to actively contribute to climate protection. Every ray of sunlight that hits our panels brings us one step closer to our goal of completely sustainable production.

Unsere Lehrlinge werden umsichtig durch ihre Lehrzeit begleitet – dafür haben wir ein Patenprogramm entwickelt: Ehemalige Lehrlinge stehen als Ansprech- und Vertrauensperson zur Verfügung. 

Fortbildungen stehen an der Tagesordnung, das Kennenlernen des gesamten Betriebs und aller relevanten Abteilung ist hier selbstverständlich.

Jeder Lehrling in der Produktion verfügt über eine eigene Werkbank.

Bei Bedarf unterstützen wir vor Kursen und Prüfungen mit Nachhilfeprogrammen.

Accessibility in the digital space is an essential aspect of providing everyone with equal access to information and services. However, in our endeavours to achieve maximum accessibility on our website, we sometimes encounter technical challenges. One example of this is full screen reader support. While we endeavour to make text content and navigation elements fully accessible, there may be limitations with complex graphics or interactive animations.

We are aware that the development towards a fully accessible platform is an ongoing process. That’s why we value the feedback and comments from people who rely on web accessibility. Your input is essential for us to make our website as inclusive as possible.

social commitment

Our commitment to environmental and climate protection has led the way for the paper industry. However, we are also particularly committed to social projects. Together with our cooperation partners, we support the fight for equal opportunities and education for all.
We are particularly committed when it comes to children and young people, as they are known to suffer the most from social inequality.
In 2022, for example, we initiated a fundraising campaign in favour of Ukrainian schoolchildren in Austria and provided them with a total of 35,000 exercise books.

Honesty and transparency are fundamental values in our company. In addition to binding legal principles, we also expect ethically impeccable behaviour in order to ensure smooth cooperation – both internally and with customers and service providers. Our code of conduct serves as a guideline in this regard.
Compliance is achieved through a clear commitment to acting with integrity on the part of the management and responsible behaviour on the part of all employees.

quality

Environmentally friendly paper is no longer coarse and greyish. With an extremely high degree of whiteness and a pleasant feel, our recycled paper is in no way inferior in quality to paper made from virgin fibre.
Every exercise book, every college pad and all our other products made from recycled paper impress with their fine texture for a pleasant writing experience.
By this means, we manage the balancing act of meeting users’ requirements while at the same time demonstrating a sense of ecological responsibility.

Circular economy

To reduce the environmental impact of our production, we endeavour to keep products and materials in a closed loop wherever possible. This means that we reuse and recycle resources to minimise the need for new raw materials and reduce waste.
In this way, the entire life cycle of paper products is designed to be sustainable at Format Werk Staufen Group.
